OUR SCHOOL
Shalva High School was founded in 2017 by a dedicated group of askanim with backing of many Lakewood rabbonim. Shalva provides a warm, wholesome educational program for the Lakewood girls who were unable to succeed in a traditional high school.

The girls sensitivities are respected and all their needs are tended to with dedication and professionalism on an individual basis.

Why Shalva?
Our girls come to us when they are yearning for a place to belong. One where they are respected and loved for who they are. While they may be struggling with their yiddishkeit, self respect, and may often feel lost, at Shalva they find home. So yes, Shalva becomes their lifeline. A purpose, a reason to wake up in the morning. In Shalva the girls know they can be whoever they need to be in that moment and will feel safe, loved and unjudged.
Our Mission
At Shalva High School, we prioritize the emotional and psychological well-being of our students. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and supportive high school environment that allows students to grow, learn, thrive and become their best selves.

Academics
Our teachers support the students academic journeys by providing personalized guidance, tailored instruction and regular feedback. They identify areas needing extra support and adapt their teaching methods to ensure that each student succeeds and ultimately receives a NJ accredited diploma.
Clinical Department
Our full-time school social worker provides individualized support to each student, case managing their specific needs and collaborating with therapists, mentors, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to their care. Our clean club promotes a healthy way to encourage our students to gain the support they need to live a clean and sober lifestyle. Our schedule includes weekly DBT group, drug education and creative activities to foster emotional wellness.

Spiritual Guidance
At Shalva, we encourage our students to ask questions, seek answers, and engage in spirited discussions. Our teachers inspire the girls daily; both as role models and in their engaging Judaic lessons. We offer one on one learning sessions on all topics of Yiddishkeit to further growth and allow for more individualization.
